I had an unresponsive Google Nest Mini 2 but have just talked with Google and they gave me a reset workaround. Basically you need to unplug the mini for 10 second after the LEDs light up. It’s a lot more sensitive to “hey google,” so much so that I’ve tried mumbling and muffling my voice just to test it and it worked! There is a mute button on the 2nd gen that comes in handy.
